Honoring History

Period Restoration was engaged to recreate a multi-generational farmhouse built in the 1800s to escape the heat of the city on the breezy bluffs above the Mississippi River. The original house was dismantled own to the shell, removing the roof and entire second floor exterior. Keeping in mind the historical context, we then expanded the first floor, making room for a bright and airy eat-in kitchen and a primary bedroom suite. Revising the entire floorplan yielded 6 bedrooms and 5 ~ bathrooms. To provide the comforts of modern living, new systems were installed throughout.
